Women Executives in Healthcare

Letter from the President

The Women Executives in Healthcare (WEH) mission has been to inspire and support women aspiring to enter and/or elevate their roles in the multiple disciplines within healthcare.  Over the last ten years WEH has been highly successful in its programs and networking activities.  To adjust to the changing opportunities available to women and the many challenges for people’s time and talent, we believe we can have a more meaningful impact on our audience by partnering with another organization to further the mission of aiding women in advancing their careers in the industry.

After considerable research and due diligence the Board of Directors of WEH has elected to transfer the WEH Scholarship to the University of New Haven’s Department of Health Sciences.  Under the leadership of Dean Summer McGee, Ph.D.CPH, Dean of Health Sciences, the WEH Scholarship will be awarded annually to an aspiring individual pursuing a career in healthcare.  With the help of those who have supported WEH, there is funding to support the award for the next ten years!  We thank all of you who have so generously given your time, talent and resources that enabled this legacy.

In addition to the Scholarship award, UNH Department of Health Sciences is planning to create a Center for Healthcare Leadership and has invited the WEH leadership to participate in the design, development and delivery of this endeavor.

The Board thanks all of you, who have supported WEH in the past and encourages you to continue your support of women seeking advancement in every field within healthcare from accounting to x-ray.  I’d also like to thank the Officers and Board members, past and present, for their dedication to Women Executives in Healthcare

Women Executives in Healthcare will continue in spirit and in action.   The WEH website will be closing down the end of August, but I invite you to stay abreast of the creation of the Center as well as to learn how to apply for the Scholarship on the UNH website at www.newhaven.edu

It has been our privilege to bring this ongoing opportunity to you!
